India Pattern Brown Bess

India Pattern Brown Bess

Our India Pattern Brown Bess Musket is correct in every detail to the originals. The British Army being short of arms at the outbreak of the Napoleonic Wars, decided to adopt the India Pattern in 1793 for the regular army, as it was cheaper to produce than the earlier Shortland model. The India pattern has a shorter barrel, simple butt plate and trigger guard but no thumb plate.

  •  39" (990mm) tapered round barrel in .77 calibre
  •  Bayonet available seperately at £60 including leather scabbard
